Default Connecting Grid Charger to IMA Battery

Howdy,

I've made a handful of grid chargers for the G1 Insight, and being now out of work, I'm looking to do the same for the G2 - yay!

Anyway, has anyone made connections to the battery? What is done standard? Are the connections made directly on the positive and negative terminals? And what size ring terminals are necessary? If anyone could tell me the length of wire that would be needed, or any other info, that'd be great.

Or if you're in FL, and don't mind opening up the battery compartment, I'd love to meet you!

On the G1, we connect the positive away from the actual positive terminal, per Mike Dabrowski's instructions. Any insight for the G2?

Feel free to drop me a line if you're interested in one of these for your G2, they'll be available pretty soon. I make them using recycled computer power supply cases. You can see the original in my signature for my G1.

Thanks!

This thread maybe helpful The I2 MIMA Thread!!!!!! and here are a few photos
According to the engineering setup, you flip the switch, then install their wires to the 2 lugs above the master power switch. Then once buttoned up, flip the switch on again and install the switch panel.

Yeah, the master switch to the hybrid system is under the small panel to the right of the cover with 2 bolts holding it on.

Id love to dig in and shoot a photo myself, but I got a lot of electrical garbage in the way.
