Default Plasti Dipped my Insight today

I Plasti Dipped the grill and my lower rear bumper today.
There was something out of proportion with the rear of the car that I couldn’t put my finger on. Putting Plasti Dip on the lower portion of the bumper gives the back a more balanced look, IMO.
Having the front grill and bumper blacked out seems to give the illusion that the front of the car is less pointy and more rounded when looking at the profile.
I did the whole job for $7 with a can of Plasti Dip from Home Depot.

I like the back part. I'm not sure about the front, but if you like it, good for you. Did you do the wheels too?

I totally agree with you, a front black grill isn’t for most people – especially one with a matte black finish.
I didn’t Plasti Dip the wheels. You can’t tell from the pics but they’re black 15” RPF1s.
My wife hates it when I put black wheels on my cars, but like you said as long as I like it.

The big black front reminds me of a Mazda...which isn't a bad thing.

ΝΕWMARION i reckon the car should look even better with the black splash guards.

Looks good. Personally, I would have left the upper grill stock but if you like it then that's all that matters. I think tint and a drop should be next on your list.

I will say that I like the look of the rear bumper. It makes the back look much better and not so tall.

However, I think the front bumper is better in the factory color, especially with silver. I think it is one of the more attractive features of the Insight II.
