Thumbs down Poorly designed aero pan push pins. Any upgrade ideas?

I changed my oil for the first time today and ended up messing up both push pins in the front of the pan. Every other fastener on the pan came off with ease except the two in the front. I replaced them with a couple of 3/8 plastic fender pins I had laying around. The two push pins with the philips head screws in the rear of the pan are a " better" design of fastener than those in the front; however I see problems with those down the line too.

Has anyone thought of a better type of fastener that can be substituted for these Mickey Mouse Pins?

On a side note... Other than messing with the pins on the aero pan, changing the oil on the Insight is much easier and less messy than most other cars.

I1 or I2? There's nothing in your post for us to know what you're working on. Profiles and signatures with location and car type are a big help!

This section of the forum is titled 2nd generation. Doesn't that mean I2?

I bought a variety of push pins on eBay. I'm sure there are better ways, but I'm just going with the flow.

I usually just look at Active Topics, and there's no way of knowing where the post came from. It would have been simpler if they had named the I2 somethig else.

This is the second generation Insight Forum; so I assumed folks would figure out I'm talking about a second generation ( 2010) Honda Insight.

I can just replace the push pins as they wear/break but I was thinking about a more heavy duty, reusable fastener solution.

Rather than keep replacing pins,I'm going to look in the hardware store for a better solution.
