Default Aftermarket air intake for I2?

Has anyone try installing an aftermarket air intake for the I2?
I think there is none for the I2 in US but it seems the Honda Fit intake should fit nicely. I tried fabricating a custom one for my I2 with connection for the vacuum tube and the MAF sensor just like the stock intake....BUT when I turn the key...it seems the car is choking....and RPM stays at 1000 even when pressing on the gas pedal????? Then I see an error message "Check Emission System" What could be wrong?

Id put it back to stock and see if someone has a scanguage they can use to clear the codes. You may have to disconnect the negative battery cable for 15 minutes and reattach it.

There is a bit of science to it. I know Ebay had a generic kit, but Ive looked at the fit and insight, the intakes are different.

Id try this for more air in the mean time HKS SUPER HYBRID AIR INTAKE FILTER 2010+ HONDA INSIGHT - eBay (item 130438637884 end time Jan-30-11 23:36:03 PST)

Hi Cobb,
I saw that item personally before. It didn't indicate air filter panel meant for Honda Insights...esp the current version.

Thanks. Was it a full size square filter, like the cabin but smaller? I got the kn, however its only a small area in the middle of the frame that filters. Id estimate 2 by 2 inches. The rest is plastic or rubber. I had hoped it was a full size filter to allow max air flow. One reason Id consider this one as it looks like a full size filter.
