Default Rear speakers on base model

I searched the forums and couldnt seem to find an answer to this question.

Does anyone know if the wiring for rear speakers is in place on the base (CVT Trim) 2011 Insight? I haven't had a chance to pop the door panels off and look, and Id like to know what I might be getting myself into if I go to add some.

Thanks in advance for your response!

Default Rear speaker wire

Just sent you a PM.
The answer is YES. The wires are already in place. Just get some speaker connectors if you don't want to splice the wires and hook up the speakers. Make sure you get the speaker adapters to mount your speakers as well. I used the below adapters I bought from Amazon

Yesterday I finally got around to pulling off the door panels back there to check it out and was pleased to find the speaker wires sitting there. Unfortunately the nut assembly and bolt require to mount the adapters aren't there, so Ive place an order with honda for them.

Now to just find a harness that will fit in there to replace the stock radio. The harnesses listed on Scosche and Crutchfield are wrong for the 2011 base model. Honda Receiver Wire Harness For select 2008-up Hondas at Crutchfield.com will not fit.

After some searching I found one that looks like it might actually fit, so i ordered it. Amazon.com: Scosche HA10B Harness for 2006 Honda Civic: Electronics

Ill definitely try to find a wiring diagram before I try though

I used Metra 70-1722 harness for the radio head unit and Metra 40-HD30 Antenna Adapter for radio. These will fit the radio head unit for the 2011 base model.
As far as wiring diagram...if you are installing an aftermarket head unit using an aftermarket wiring harness (Metra or Scosche...etc) it is a direct plug and play fit. There's no cutting or splicing any wires! All you have to do is connect blue with blue, green with green...etc

are there also speaker wires in the dash below the windshield? If so what size speakers fit? and what size fit the rear doors? will the stock radio power rear door speakers?

Default How to remove the door panel

I have searched everywhere and cannot find how to remove the door panel. The one FAQ on this site doesn't apply to the 2010-2011 models.

Also, I just ordered some budget Kenwood speakers to go in the back doors on my 2011 base. I noticed someone mentioned they received the wrong wiring harness. The one Crutchfield is sending me is for "Honda/Acura Wire Harness speakers, 1990-up." Part #120 71-012.
Also, they do not have the Master sheet for my car, so I will have to call them to get any technical information pertaining to my install.

I looked up that Amazon part and it says it does not fit 2011 Insight.

Sometimes such adapters (and shocks, wheels & other aftermarket stuff) do not list as being for a new model year until someone has actually seen the current set up. I really doubt there has been any change in the speaker plug for 2011.

By the way, most door panels just pull off. Once you unscrew anything attached
with a screw anyway. There is probably a screw holding the little trim around the door handle. If you do not have a trim removal tool, a mini flat bar, perhaps wrapped with tape works. Start at the bottom, unsnapping the connectors and work your way up the sides. The top is probably hooked over the bottom window edge. I think if you look at the sound insulation thread there are photos of the panel removed. That will give you an idea of where the connections are. You just want to use the pry tool as close to the connectors as possible. The worst that can happen is that you may break one and have to go to the dealer parts dept to get one.
