Default Rear Windshield Wiper - What fits?

Hello everyone,

There isn't a whole lot of information available on the rear windshield wiper for the 2010 Honda Insight. I checked out Honda's rear wiper but it costs $35 at the dealer (ridiculous!) and can't find it for less than $20 shipped online. I got $7 goodyear wipers at Costco for the front and they work great, but I'm not certain that the attachment mechanism is compatible.

It looks like the attachment mechanism is a "Type B". Is this a standard? Can I go with any 16" wiper that has this? This RainX blade is $13.43 shipped via Amazon prime, but I'm trying to find out if it will fit: Amazon.com: Rain-X 5079274 Latitude 8-In-1 Premium Graphite Coated Wiper Blade - 16": Automotive

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Welcome aboard, sorry about the alck of response. I work a lot and care for 2 elderly parents, so my time is limited here.

Windshield wiper blades are 2 parts. The frame and blade. You can remove hte rubber blade by sliding it out of the frame. For convience most people jsut repalce the whole unit.

Id buy the blade you want, then slip out the rubber part of both. Cut the new to length with a pair of pliers, then slide it into the old oneon the car.

Myself, I removed the rear wiper aseembly and put shorter ones on the front.

I had the basic rain x ones and they only lasted a year. I decided to give the weather beaters a try for the geo metro and going with the cheap trico ones for the Honda.

I'm new to the insight scene, just bought mine a week ago, averaging 68.9 mpg so far. Mileage has been increasing as temperature goes up and I learn how to feather the car, I came from a '93 del sol so I'm loving the space. Lifetime mileage when I got the car, 49, at 107,000, ouch. Anyways I've been reading and studying all the greatness this site has to offer and figured I would add my own experience with my first mod, which may help others. I realize this post is old but I too had the issue with thinking the rear view in rain was super small cleared only by a 16" blade. I believe the blade to be original as it was barely alive. Anyways i went to the local dollar store and bought a 22" blue coral brand wiper blade for $3.88, it fit perfectly and is a 100% improvement. Didn't have to modify anything and the wiper functions great. Hope to help someone out there curious about bigger blades. Thanks

Bosch frameless are what I use and they work great. You can always just buy the Honda Inserts for a few bucks.

68.9 mpg ? Really ? Do you only drive downhill may be ?

I am only averaging 46.6

Just called the local Honda dealer here in San Antonio for you, they sell inserts for $7.99
