so im trying to install my springs but realized my strut is bent. we took both struts off the front to compare and yes the rights were bent. so we put the right one back on. and now the left one wont install. we cant get the two holes behind the caliper into the strut. any one have this problem?
i did fix it. and today we realized the struts also bent so were holding off installing the springs til we get the new strut.
and today we realized the reason it didnt go in is because the axle popped out of its socket. so the strut and the big circle thing right behind the wheel didnt align together. (sorry for my lack of car terms lol) so were gonna get that fixed tommorow. since all we have to do is pop it back in. we just dont have the plastic thing to tie the covering thing back on.
Yeah, its really important to read the instructions 3 times. Make sure to support the parts so the abs sensor wire is not stressed nor the tube that feeds fluid to the brakes. I like bungie cords, zip ties or a large single stran piece of copper wire.

and i also have this question. The welding holding my strut seems to have broken from that accident like 6months- a year ago. ive been driving around on it and noticed it a couple days ago. heres a picture, how important do you guys think it is to fix it? the bodyshop quoted me 2k...
Typically a photo is worth a thousand words, but those are too extreme close ups to tell what you are showing. What I see in the first photo is the ABS unit with all those small tubes coming out of it. The second photo shows the connection for the ac system. I cant tell what the third photo is of, maybe a broken coat hanger being held over the engine compartment?
Can you take a photo showing the whole engine compartment and place your hand or point with your finger on the area in question?
Welding is very cheap and easy to do. Maybe they are doing to do some painting, pulling, straightening of the chassis?

Focus on the centre of the image and scan slightly to the left examining the sheet metal panel in the background.
Observe in the background of the image the horizontal panel seam weld has torn creating a wedge-shaped tear, narrow point on the left, also to the right of the tear, just to the left of the blue cap, a circular weld has failed leaving a u-shaped cavity on the top edge of the lower panel.
I am not a metallurgist, but the wedge shaped crack may spread leftwards over time due to stress concentration at the sharp point and the seam may fail 100%, so I would have this attended to promptly
yea what he said^ the first two is showing the general area. and the last one is showing the welding ripped apart. what the body shop wanted to do was replace the whole thing. but he said i may be able to take it to a welder and weld it back up but they wont do that.
this is in the top left area of the engine bay. its the cover that covers the struts/shocks.
so do you guys think it will be ok if just kinda hammer that inside part in so it slides in and re weld it together?
or like the bodyshop said, should i replace the whole thing?
