Default Auxiliary Connection

I have a 2011 Base model with an aux connector down on the bottom near the power outlet. I have been looking on Crutchfield at possible Bluetooth compatible replacements, but I see a warning that I will lose the use of the aux connector. Has anyone else run into this and what did you do to work around it? I don't want to lose the connector as the location is excellent and I would like the replacement to be a fully functional replacement. Thanks.

My 2010 I2 had the aux just blow the radio, next to the air bag indicator light. When I removed the stock headunit and replace it with a face plate and after market stereo, I lost my aux input. Granted, my new radio had a iPod connector, I really didn't mind loosing the aux input. If your aux input is near the cigarette lighter/12 volt connector, then I'd guess you have the Honda navi...

Some aftermarket radios have a Aux in, but they are usually on the face of the radio somewhere. Do you have new radio to instal already? You might be able to find an aftermarket radio with an aux "mini stereo" jack that connects by a long wire to the back of the radio. You could then maybe tap that into the Insight's Aux in, but that really just a theory. If this made no sense, ask and I'll clarify.

Yup, it's gone unless you install a new one. All of my connectors are on the front face plate of my radio.

Thanks. I was afraid of that. I have seen one radio that had a read aux port, but they are rare.
