Default Stereo and Speakers upgrade!!!

Hi guys i am a proud new owner of a 2011 Black base. Been wanting to upgrade the stereo and speakers. Wanted to get two sets of the Focal 130 a1 components one for the front and one for the rears. Then get a basic but good quality Alpine HU and combine it with the KTP-445 amp. I do not want to run any wires. What i wanted to know is if anyone had an suggestions between 2 volt and 4 volt alpine head units. All i need is a front USB and aux. And since i am using the KTP-445 will it matter with the speaker i want if the HU has 2 volt or 4 volt. I was thinking about getting the Ina-w910 with Nav but dam its quite expensive. I would rather get something simple now and use my Android phone for the nav. I am aware of the Pioneer App Radio but you need to have an Iphone and i hear that u still need to use your phone to switch certain apps. So for now i was considering one of the basic Alpine HU's and pair it with the KTP-445 mini amp that fits in the glove box or behind the HU. I am not an expert in car audio but i was just looking for some expert opinions from those who do own an insight and maybe have upgraded the stock speakers and HU's from Honda. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome aboard. I think your post is better directed to an audio forum or my favorite store crutchfield. I think we have an expert or two here.

Myself I like stuff that "sounds" good at a reasonible price, so I am a kenwood speaker fan and sony head unit. As for amps I like alpine and for sub boxes band pass. I also believe when it comes to power you need a larger cap than recommended and a second battery installed close to the amp as possible.

I can tell you how to remove and install the head unit and the speakers are 6.5 inch.

I have a similar setup to what you are talking about (chech out my forum sig for the specifics) I can tell you that the KTP-445 is much better than the HU's built in amplifers, and should work well with that set of Focals. Have you considered were you will mount the tweeters in the rear?

If you're not going to run wires for an amp/sub, then 2 or 4 volt pre-outs doesn't matter, the KTP-445 doesn't connect to the pre-outs. If there's any specific about Alpines you are curious about, I might be able to help, I've had a few Alpines HUs over the years.

Hi Stone,

Thanks for the reply. I actually just bought the IDA-X305 not sure if its BT or if they make it without a BT found an open box in Best Buy for $100 bucks and got a brand new KTP-445 $130. I figured it didn't matter about 2 or 4 volt if i was going to run that amp. I like that it will be a clean setup and i will not have wires going to the battery. I plan on buying a set of Focal 130 A1 for the Fronts and i have a pair of Kove Audio 5.25 for the rear if they do not fit Ill grab another set of the 130 A1s Should sound decent. Whats with everyone deleting the Rear Wiper? I was wondering why it even had a rear wiper but i guess in my area the Northeast we get some snow so it might come in handy. Unless i m missing something everyone here loves to get rid of that wiper. Just curious. Oh how do u like the Alpine iDA-305?

I've really grown to love my iDA-305, just make sure you use the advanced audio adjustment menu, or you'll be very limited in adjusting the sound. Does the Pandora App compatibility work with Android? It works great with my iPhone.

As for the rear wiper, I think a lot of us remove it because it's an easy mod, really cleans up the look of the rear, and the wiper is generally pretty useless. Although, I did grow up in NH, so I can understand wanting to have something back there for the winter.

Nope no android support. I wanted the Pioneer app radio but it only works with the iphone too. Plus u still need to use the phone to open some apps. I still prefer Alpine but will wait for an Alpine version of the App radio.
