Default Insight ZE2: how to remove side mirror cover?

Hello there
I own an Insight ZE2 2009.
I have replaced ALL the original bulbs with LED bulbs, very nice effect
What is left to do is to replace the side mirror bulbs, I have a nice pair of T10 amber LED's waiting to be assembled, but I cannot remove the side mirror cover.
Is anybody capable of explaining me how to remove the cover of side mirror on an Insight, please?

It's very tricky. I'd hate to get you in trouble. I suggest you find a manual. Don't hold me responsible for any screw ups.

First you need to remove the mirror. There are two pinch snaps on the bottom. You need to carefully pry out from the bottom to unsnap them. After that, there are two slide clips at the top that should easily slide out. Heated mirrors have heat wires to be disconnected as the mirror comes off.

Next there are 4 button head screws and one countersunk screw that hold the front and rear half of the mirror housing together. The front half has a couple of little tricky hooks that hold it on.

From there, you have access to the connector and bulb.

All this time, the mirror holder and adjustment actuators are hanging out in the open. It is very critical that they do not get disturbed and are in the correct position before putting it all back together. If you get it wrong, your mirror will not adjust.

Again, it is very easy to screw this up in every step.

Jayemtee is spot on- it's quite the sticky wicket. Here's the procedure that I followed in order to access the connector and bulb:

1) Remove the power mirror holder, and the mirror housing.

2) Carefully push on the top edge of the mirror holder by hand.

**Carefully push on the top edge of the mirror holder (A) by hand and detach the bottom hooks (B)**

3) Put a shop towel in the opening between the lower edge of the mirror holder and the mirror housing to prevent scratches, and detach the bottom hooks with a flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape.

4) Separate the mirror holder from the actuator by releasing the hooks. If equipped, disconnect the mirror defogger connectors.

5) If necessary, remove the mirror housing.

6) Remove the screws.

7) Release the hooks, then remove the visor and the mirror housing.
Disconnect the 2P connector from the side turn signal light.

You should be able to access the bulb now. Be careful when you're handling it though, as it is quite fragile!

Thanks so much to both of you
I am going to give it a try next weekend
I'll post the results
