ill barely start learning about oil and lubrication next week, but id like to get some advice from you

READ your owners manual.. it will say which.. I believe it's 0-20w. I usually go for Mobil 1.. At least for engine oil that is.

For CVT, go buy it from Honda.....

If you are used to having oil changed at Honda, keep buying their brand oil. Get 0W20 oil. Buy 4 quarts. You will use 3, then you'll have to use a little out of the 4th bottle.

And you must use Honda CVT fluid. Specify Honda CVT Fluid. Again buy 4. You will need 3 plus a little more.

You will need a need a new Honda drain plug washer. They get changed every time the drain plug comes off. Part number 94109-14000

You will need a new CVT plug washer. It too gets changed with each drain. Part number 90471-PX4-000

You will need a filter for the oil system. 15400-PLM-A01 is desired, but 15400-PLM-A02 is acceptable.

You will need a filter for the CVT. Part number 25430-PLR-003

You can get it all on line from a discount Honda place like Bernardi. OEM Honda Parts & Honda Accessories - Bernardi Honda Parts and Accessories Or you can get it from your Honda dealer and the rest on line. Your dealer will charge more and might not have it all in stock.

By the way, when was the last time you had your cabin air filter replaced? It's located behind the glove box on the passenger side.

Did you really not check the owners manual before you posted this? Most of the answers are their, it just seems like you wanted the lazy way.

Its usually written on the oil caps of most modern cars. I started using Honda brand, then mobile 1, recently got a deal on some quickerstate 0w20, but I use Honda filters. Every now n then dealers will have a special on filters.

I think Enos makes cvt fluid, but I just use honda brand.

I vote for the Mobil 1 0W-20. Full synthetic is the way to go. It may be too late for your class but most auto parts stores run specials on Mobil 1 every couple months. Buy 5 quarts and get a free filter for somewere around $30. Stock up and save! Dealer oil changes use standard oil and cost upwards of $50. So you are putting a much better product in your car at a cheaper cost. Win / Win.
