Purolator PL24458 will supposedly fit our insight.

It's second from the left in the pic. You can see our Honda Filter, third from right, to compare sizes.

The CIVIC filter is slightly larger than the G1 filter. Been using them on my vehicle since 2003.

The gen 1 Insight filter is smaller than the Gen 2? I know the Insight 2 shares its filter with most other Hondas. The thread pattern on the Gen 2 Filter is 20mm x1.5.

EDITED TO ADD.

I just checked, the threads are the same on the G1 but the filter is indeed smaller. It seems like you can use the same over sized filters as I'm finding with the G2.

The threaded are is almost the same. There are a few vehicles where it does differ. It made the oil look cleaner longer on my van and my geo metro. Yes, the oil in the i2 looks pretty clean at its oil life suggested change, but looks are only part of the story. I use to change filters only on my geo and after 6 months driving 3000 miles every 10 days the engine started knocking and the oil was lumpy and dirty beyond belief. A simple change fixed all the knocking.

I know how dirty an oil looks isn't the entire story. However, it makes sense that the I2's oil, at a given mileage, will have less contaminants than a non hybrid. Our ICE must not run at least 20-30% less than a ICE in a non hybrid.
