What's the trick in removing the front wiper blades?
If changed many wiper blades in my time but these front ones on the Insight are stubborn. The rear was a snap. What's the trick in getting these front ones off? I don't want to break them because I'm going to buy inserts to use in the future.

Whack em hard? I'm sure there's a release tab depending on what aftermarket blades are on there, but they just get stuck with time. I just straighten the blade out so it's parallel with the arm, depress whatever release there is and give it a couple solid thwacks toward the base of the wiper arm.

These are the factory ones. The locking mechanism is stronger than those of the aftermarket ones. I think I may have to use a pair of needle nose pliers but want to get some advice from someone who removed theirs; before I break something. These Hondas are the toughest I've encountered. Like I said, I want to keep these and change the inserts. The ones I'm wanting to put on for now are the Bosch Frameless.

You would think I would have the answer, but Ive tossed my oem blades several years ago and went with the cheapest I could find at walmart, trico blades. I had purchased the rainx weather guard, but they only lasted a year like the oem ones before the rubber blade split off. At that, I dont really use my wipers as I coat my car in turtle wax ice wax that acts like rainx on the windows and previously used rainx with a color based wax.
To pop the blade from the arm you have a tab you need to pop up 90 degrees, then you have enough slack in the arm to slide it off. I went with 2 inch shorter blades for both sides. The rear was removed altogether.

I still have to get around to doing that now that I have my car back. I bought some of the Bosch Frameless to try. Does anyone know the trick with removing the old ones?

There is a small tab on top of he blade that you flip up, then the blade slides out. I can flip the tab with my finger, but a screwdriver would make it easier. I could try to make a video of it...there may even already be one on YouTube. A tip: DON'T!!! Leave the wiper arm ( without the blade in it),hanging in the raised position while you get the new blade out. If it springs down to the windshield, it will crack it. I always lower the arm to the windshield if I'm not going to be hanging on to it.

I just discovered that the shop that did the repairs after my accident, changed my front wiper blades. The ones they put on come off very easily. I imagine they broke the Honda ones when removing them. I wanted to use wiper inserts to try to save money in the future and be more green. Oh well. I'd still appreciate if you post the instructional video; for the benefit of others reading this.
