flip key from Amazon for about $16, but found that the blade was 1mm shorter than the stock key. I've heard of these keys getting stuck in ignitions because of the length/bulkyness of after-market keys, so I returned the key and was given a full refund.
Then I found this flip key on ebay. It has a smoother shape (much like the stock key), rather than being boxy like the first flip key, so I'm assuming it will turn in the ignition much more easily. The blade should be the same length, but if it's 1mm off I won't be as worried because I don't expect the body of the key to get in the way when you press the key in to release it. It should arrive within the next 5 days...I'll keep you all updated.
A local dealership quoted me $10 to cut the blank, but I'm going to take my car in for some warranty repairs so maybe they'll waive the cost.
I got mines from ebay. I do a lot of shopping on ebay and so far, so good. I tried amazon, but many times the item cant be ordered and a week later I end up with a refund and a week late without my item.
I am embarrious to say I cant find my oem key and just have the flip and beach lock out key.
My dealer cut mines for free, but I am always buying hats and shirts.

So cutting the key is not the issue from what I understand, it is getting the new key programed to the ECM is what really cost you. I have a new key that needs cut and programed, Honda here has quoted me about $70 dollars for it.
I doubt a 16 dollar key comes with the radio to program or the rfid chip. Actually a new key with all the parts, radio and rfid chip is closer to 50 after market 100 retail. It has the radio for the rke and the rfid for the immobilize security feature.
The flip key I got from ebay you had to reuse your module from the original key and get the end cut with a laser. This way the rke works, the immobilizer worked and it started the car.
My dealer quoted 100 bucks to add another key to the system.

Is the beach lockout key just a regular key for the doors? Also, didn't you get 2 sets of keys when you bought your car? I did.
Funny thing regarding the durability of the Insight Key. About a year and a half ago, I accidentally left my key in my pants pocket and ran it through the laundry.
It survived a full cycle in the machine and is still going strong.

I just got the new flip key in the mail. The blade is the EXACT same size as the stock key. Same length (maybe even 1mm longer), width, and thickness. The base of the key (where the blade meets the body) is sloped enough to avoid making contact with the bezel of the ignition. The only problem is that the immobilizer transponder is too far from the ignition if I just put the remote in without any tampering, so the manufacturer has sent me instructions on how to remove it and place it in a dedicated section of the key that is located closer to the ignition. Basically like this: Flip key - Civinfo Wiki
Shouldn't be too bad, I'll get to work on it tomorrow then take it to be cut some time next week. Either then or next Saturday when I have my repairs done.
All-in-all, this key is beautiful. I can really tell that the manufacturer engineered it to avoid issues that other flip keys have presented. As long as I don't fry this circuit board trying to re-locate the immobilizer I think I should be fine
