HID Reverse lamps?

Anyone ever give this any thought? I see a kit on ebay. HID Reverse back up Fog light kit 12V 15W T10 921 194 W5W 4300K White Short lamp | eBay

This guy also sells an f1 style rear fog lamp.

I did the led thing, but its no contest with a regular bulb during day light hours. The led color seems to blend in with the ambient light and its hard to tell if the lense and reflector assembly is illuminated or its the sun reflecting around inside it.

For reverse lights, can try installing the new ultra bright CREE type LED bulbs, just search "t10 cree led 7.5w" ... these are supposed to be the brightest T10 bulbs you can get. The extra side SMDs will work good with reflectors.

Problem with the Cree's is that they cause radio static somehow (Google for Cree reverse radio static).

Haven't tried em on my Insight yet, but it worries me that they introduce enough noise to interfere with the radio. Maybe some kind of power filter would help?

I had a pair of LED fog lights on my Jeep that caused serious interference with my radio. They were made by VisionX and not supposed to cause any problems...but the moment you triggered them you would severely lose any FM radio clarity. AM, not so much though. I pulled them and installed on another one of our Jeeps that had an aftermarket radio and they don't seem to affect it in the slightest. Not sure why, but that's my experience with them.
