Default AppRadio install with OEM parts

I've finally got round to upgrading my stock stereo in my insight (basic 4 speaker system). I'm going to try and do it achieving the best OEM style finish I can.

So far I've got a Pioneer AppRadio (thanks to my dear wife!) and...
  • Facia Plate: 77251-TM8-E01ZA
  • Bracket: 77255-TM8-010
  • Screws: 93913-14420

The bracket is perfect since it allows it to mount to the bolt that secured the original one. The Facia Plate is pricy, but is a perfect match to the oem dash (pics to follow).

I have however hit a snag (which I think maybe minor) in that I now need a double din ring trim (see pics). After consulting the ever-wise google, I found that the Scosche HA1561TRB Double-DIN Trim Ring for 2006 HondaCivic may work, but before I order, has anyone had any experience of trim rings with Honda's where effectively the standard sat-nav has been replaced with a double din headunit?

BTW - thanks to the guys that contributed to the DIY - How to remove stock radio. thread... it's saved me a bunch of hassle already!!

This is the trim that goes around the edge of the radio and inside the opening in the adapter? Sometimes you need to use a box cutter and some super glue.

Crutchfield is another option.

Thanks Cobb... Went to my local specialist to get a Connects2 steering control adapter (worked plug and play on my test hook up) and they gave me a spare trim ring. With a little bit of sticky back felt tape, it's a perfect solid fit and matches the pioneer plastic well.ImageUploadedByAutoguide1354982028.729647.jpg

Next I need to get a new hazard switch... The plastic mount behind the button is different... £65... That's a lot for a button, but although I could doctor the original I want it so it'll last. The part number I'm looking at is 35510-TM8-J01.

Any out there fitted an appradio parking break bypass?

My bad, I didnt see that you were across the pond.

Yeah, thats a little procy. The American switch is black wuth the red logo where as yalls is red.

Its my experience that most radios that play dvd, video, etc has a wire that needs to be grounded for all features to be enables. I just installed one in my suzuki sidekick that was like that. Ive seen adapters on ebay for the higher end ones to trick it into working while driving.

... I got one from Japan in the end - about 1/3 of the price for the same part posted to the UK!

It's all in and looks good. With the Connects2 harness (plug and play), even the steering wheel audio controls work.

Just got to hook up the parking break and I'm done!!

Mind posting a link? I used the trim that came with my stereo and ended up cutting it but it didnt fit well. I am hoping your trim works better.
