Default Remove Honda Insight 2010 nav radio

High everyone,

I am trying to remove the nav. ex radio that is in my insight to take a look at the harness that runs to the usb which I believe is faulty. I can not for the life of me get the dumb thing out though! I followed the guide for stock radio but when it comes to pushing the radio out, it won't budge. Any advice on this?

Maybe on the issue as well. I purchased this car used from the previous owner. Everything works great except I noticed the usb dongle in the glove compartment does not work. Anything I plug into it the unit just says no device. I tested plugging the same usb drive into the usb end that the ipod cable it plugged into and sure enough it showed up. So something is either wrong with the box or something is not plugged into the stereo I presume, hence why I want to pull it out.

Thumbs down

The head unit or the plastic trim? Is this a Honda head unit or an aftermarket one?

THe OEM radio is held in by a bolt under the accessory plug. Once removed you can push it out from down there or from the dash. Th trim ring is held in by clips around the edge.

You can remove the glove box and get a better see/feel to see if there is something else holding it. Just empty your glove box, then carefully pull it open past its stopped so it dumps the contents into the floor.

Go to a Honda Dealer site that sells accessories online like:

OEM Honda Parts & Honda Accessories - Bernardi Honda Parts and Accessories

Look up an audio part like the XM radio attachment. On the page there will be a link to installation instructions. Shows exactly how to remove the NAV unit.

While there, you might also want to look at the parts pages for the usb cable. Just to see how it's run and connected.
