Default Under radio GPS Mounting

Hi all. It's been a while since I've posted on the forum.

before I go further, yes I've searched and no ididnt find anything.

Has anyone mounted a GPS in their Insight below the stereo? After the new year I'm getting a Garmin C330 GPS and an external antenna for mine, but I dont want to mount the unit on the windshield. I don't really want to block off any part of my view, and the cops in IL are cracking down on folks with driver-viewable dvd players. Even though the GPS doesnt do that, there are a lot of cops around that dont know/care.

If they exist, I'd like to see some photos if possible. It plugs into the cig lighter, but I also use my ipod in that jack. Any ideas on semi-perm wiring would be nice too (hidden cig lighter, wired into the fuse box, etc)

Thanks all,
Joe

I removed the passenger visor and mounted the GPS using the screw in location of the visor. Mine is a streetpilot IIIand a simple threaded rod stock screws into the back of the GPS and into the visor mount location. The cords tuck under the headliner. Easily seen by driver. Have fun, Rick
