Default Dan's Niiice mods! - Formerly the whomobile

Hey all. I've procrastinated on my making a mods page, but I finally got around to it. Kudos to Jackmpg for all the help he's given me, and to everyone who's helped me troubleshooting some really sticky problems. Here's the link.

Hopefully I'm not done yet. We'll see what the future brings. I'm happy to answer any questions and I welcome your comments.

Very nice... I love that sunroof and really want to get one! But I have been trying to curtail my car-related expenses as of late.

Does the muffler mod have any detrimental effects on your mpg?

Yeah, it makes me want to gun it a lot!
Actually, it should help it some. The engine can breathe easier and take less effort to get going.

IIRC Dan's hit the MPG answer on the head.

Lower restriction in the exhaust flow increases _HIGH_ RPM engine horsepower at a loss of _low_ RPM torque (the physics of flow dynamics and internal combustion engines).

So if your driving in the high MPG style then there will be NO gains. However, heavier footed Insighters _might_ see a difference, but it won't be anything near what the Insight is capable of when driven as it was designed for (high MPG).

HTH!

I'm trying to relearn how to drive around here. Lots of hills and almost every does the speed limit. Some even drive 10 under. I can't get my battery to charge up unless I leave it in 3rd. I'll figure it out. It'll just take some time.

Wish I had $900 to blow on a sunroof My only other comment is that you should have gotten Sirius.

I asked at the Hummer and Honda dealers, and they all recommended the same company. They do customizations for like 50 dealerships. Then I went over on my lunch break to see what they had.
