Jaycar is an Australian company but they appear to sell into the US - as shown on above web page. Cost in US $ appears to be $100 plus $20 freight.
Installed mine today in Insight. Much better results than 'boom box' designation would suggest. Certainly, very substantial improvement in bass response.
- Does it lay at the bottom of the storage compartment? Or did you mean it is under the bottom of the storage lining, above the spare?
- Did you secure it somehow? Or, just lay it there?
- Does the speaker have a grill over it? If it is layed at the bottom of the compartment, how would you put sutff there on the top of it?
- What would you do if you have to use the spare?
- How does it sound with the cover of the storage in place? With some stuff in the storage?
- Are the amplifier and crossover built inside the box? You can't see them?
- Where is the port hole? Opposite side of the speaker? On the side?
I wish they had more detail description and few other pictures. But, for now, you are my only source to ask these questions, until I order one my self.
I am a new owner and couldn't get hold of Wayland and about ready to build a box myself, same as Wayland's. I was about to go out to buy the MDF materials today. But this makes me very interesting.

It sits directly on top of the spare, under the storage lining. This means that for the storage lining to sit back into place, it needs to be cut.

It wedges into place almost perfectly - sideways width is a tight push-down fit in the available space.

The speaker has a fairly strong grille over it. You wouldn't put a big brick on top of it but normal lightweight stuff that would go into the storage compartment, no problem.
- How does it sound with the cover of the storage in place? With some stuff in the storage?
I haven't filled the storage box and listened but with the carpet/lid/storage box in place it's fine.
- What would you do if you have to use the spare?
I left sufficient length of cable to the sub that it can be pulled out and placed temporarily on top of the battery box when the spare needs to be accessed.

They're built into the box and you can't normally see them. I pulled off the rear plate and had a look - they're OK but not startlingly good in construction.
- Where is the port hole? Opposite side of the speaker? On the side?
With the box in place, the exposed grille is at left in the upper horizontal panel and the port is in the right-hand vertical panel. The shape of the Insight metalwork leaves it mostly exposed when the sub is in place.
