Help adjusting base feet on Saris roof rack

Last week I finally picked up the Saris 50" roof rack for my '03 Insight after ordering it last August.

The authorized Saris dealer unboxed the roof rack and threw the box away (for reasons I cannot fathom) and in the process, lost the manual. They did give me the right clip kit and I was able to figure out how to install those to the rack, but not how to slide the base mouting feet to fit the Insight.

Considering that I had to handhold three sales technicians at this shop through the three-month ordering process for this rack, I have less than zero faith in their abilities to determine how to slide the mounting base feet to put on my car and no interest in paying them to learn the process. The Saris website, naturally, includes no information.

WELL, I found the installation instructions, as part of a bicycle rack mount instructions at, of all places, the Chicago FlexCar website.

The knobs on the ends turn and adjust the pillars, only slight amounts so I didn't notice messing with them.

Since it took some creative googling, I've uploaded it here.

Perhaps we should consider adding it to a FAQs or somewhere on this website.
