Default Honda taking notice?

Today while in town picking up parts at my favorite Honda dealer, I saw that there were only two brands of oil on display and for sale.
One being the std. HONDA oil and...................
the second one being MOBIL synthetic in 0-20, 5-20, and 5-30 wts.
at $8.40 a quart.

Makes me wonder if they have been "spying" at ICN.

Probably, and I hope so.

Selling synthetic makes sense. The cars will run more efficiently and last longer. That boosts owner satisfaction and resale value.

Perhaps they also noticed more customers were bringing in their own synthetic.

yea, when i went to get my oil changed, as soon as i told them i had an insight, the guy said that it would cost me a little more because i needed, what he referred to as, "hybrid oil"...so hopefully now that the civic and accord hyrids are out there, the stealerships might start to understand hybrids

took em long enough

Other than being 0W-20 weight oil, there is nothing special that makes it "hybrid oil". 0W-20 can be used in most all other Honda's requiring 5W-20. I certainly wouldn't spend $8.40 for Mobil 1 at a "stealership" when I can buy it for $5 and change at my local Walmart.
