Of course ANY Mod risks voiding warranty and or breaking the car.

Added to list

#1> DC-DC keep alive , for during FAS operation , etc....

#2> V-Boost, extra secondary battery to add plug in hybrid grid charging ability and to increase Electrical on board storage.

#3> Top off charge.... for topping off the stock battery over night.

#4> Turbo

#5> Can be run on E-85 modification. ( I remember someone in Europe doing this. )

#6> Disabling power steering

#7> Although I don't know of anyone having done it on an Insight , but other ICEs have been converted to run on Hydrogen.

#8> Insights have been modified into full EVs

#9> Seat cooling system to reduce the need for AC

#10> 5th Wheel / Wheel motor to add a pure EV mode while keeping the rest of the stock hybrid system.

#11> Extra Monitoring equipment to keep track of when the car is in Fuel Cut, Battery and sub-pack Voltages, Current, etc....

#12> Adding 12VDC Exhaust fan for the rear air exit vent to reduce temperature increase while parked in a sunny parking lot.

#13> Routed AC ducting to the IMA Stock Battery Air intake behind the passenger seat to increase Stock IMA Battery Cooling effect.

#14> Adding a Trailer for towing.

#15> Adding a bike Rack.

#16> Adding Air Springs.

#17> Replacing / upgrading stock springs / Shocks.

#18> GPS

....

off the top of my head those are the ones I recall..

Remove fuse for rear defroster. It runs for about 10 minutes every time you start the car, even in summer, and uses quite a bit of electricity.

At least that's the theory. It's easy to take out the fuse, though...

1. ScanGauge 2

2. a decent stereo

3. sun shades front and rear, plus one for the side facing the sun when parked.

4. nice, dark window tint to help avoid a/c use.

5. a good, fitted car cover to keep it cool in the summer, and snow-free in the winter, or

6. a garage! that it could actually fit into! (barely room to walk in mine...)

Don't forget sunroof, was a must for mine as I don't have AC.

Things I have done to mine to date:

1. Stereo with speakers in factory locations, amps, 2 X 8" subwoofers.
2. Sunroof
3. Mima
