Default Model Year Technical Differences

Apologies if this isn't the right forum to post this question. I'm trying to ascertain whether there are any significant differences between Insights of 2000-2006?

The only changes are in some of the "electronics" stuff. ECM,BCM,MCM.

It should be noted that "most" of the earlier Insights are being "updated" at Hondas expense, even with over 200,000 miles on some of the vehicles. (Bet you can't get that from the BIG THREE.)

Citrus yellow only available in 2000
Blue available from 2001+
CVT only available 2001+
Interior color changed from gray to titanium in 04 (around there somewhere).

Not a whole lot different otherwise.

Default Difference in exhaust sensors

One other difference. On 2000 and 2001 there is not an exhaust sensor after the second cat. Later years had that. The difference is that on the earlier years there is no diagnostic for the second cat ( since no measure on it's output ).

I got bit on this one when the dealer replaced the wrong cat. You can search for the story on this board.

Thanks for the information about your experience, Jim. I'm close to finalizing a deal on a 2006 Insight MT model in Red so it will have both sensors then. The website has been an extremely helpful resource.
