This week, I've driven my Insight several times, after much idle time in the driveway.
In the last 2 years, the original battery pack seems to have deteriorated to the point where anything less than a 60% iSoC would result in a recalibration, provided the recal would occur after a few days of operation following the previous recal.
With manual control, I can control the battery pack SoC, and consequently, recals are a rare occurance.
Earlier this week, I noticed that the iSoC went to about 50% and that there was no ensueing recal!

The previous recal had occurred many months ago.
From this data point, it's probably not sound technical judgement to conclude that the battery pack may have somehow improved it's internal balance as a result of minimal use and broad winter temperature extremes in the driveway. However, with the iSoC as the only indication of battery pack capacity that I have access to, this is a pleasant surprise and a cause for optimism that the battery pack's early demise isn't necessarily inevitable.
