Default OCI ?

Hi- Here's my scenario:

I drive 1000 miles in 1 day. Present a seminar. Drive 1000 miles home in 1 day. Have a week off.
Drive 1000 miles in 1 day the following week. Present a seminar. Drive 1000 miles home in 1 day.

So that's 4000 miles on the car in 4 days of driving ( more or less ).

When do I need to change the oil? Every 4 days seems a bit excessive, don't you think?

How about the Mobil 1 extended life oil, "Guranteed for 15,000 miles" right on the bottle.
I think I can get that in 5w-20 which Honda says is OK, if 0w-20 is unavailable.

I think the cost savings of fewer OCI's would far outweigh any MPG hit with this oil.
Thoughts? Newbie here with just 300 miles so far, but doing my first long road trip in this car next weekend.
Thanks. -John

7,500 between filter and oil change.

Your a better road trip driver than me... even averaging 70 mph it would take over 14 hours of non stop driving to go 1,000 miles... All in one day .... ... not for me... I stop and stretch my legs and grab a bite every 3 hours or so.... 1,000 miles for me is at least a 2 day drive.... unless I have a 2nd driver in the car to trade off with.

Personally, I think Pennzoil Platinum 0w-20 synthetic is best, but to each his own. However, if you are wanting to do a 15,000 OCI, I would DEFINITELY go with Amsoil 0w-20 with one of their EaO oil filters. They say their 0w-20 will last 15,000 miles under severe conditions. 25,000 miles under normal conditions.

However, for hypermiling, nothing tops Pennzoil Platinum 0w-20. Lowest kinematic viscosity of ANY 0w-20 oil on the market.

Cheers,
Bryan
