Default V-Boost , what is it ?

I saw a reference to V-Boost , and it looks like it is a way to charge extra batteries for on board
plug in usage.
On 99mpg.com the link just goes to a dead end, showing a prius with open trunk, no real info.
Can someone elaborate on this a bit ?

Also, can one add an extra Honda dc-dc converter to the IMA to get some more 12V power, or is the control
circuitry a bit problematic ?

I'd like to add a supplemental electric motor to drive one of the rear wheels ( not a scooter 5th wheel ) and be able to
get some benefit from situations where the main Honda pack is already full, to spill over some charge to another battery, via
a dc-dc converter.

Default Re: V-Boost , what is it ?

Doug assures me that he will be getting back to his V-Boost project soon.. The V-boost is a PHEV power dc/dc converter with an adjustable constant current output. It will operate from 48 to 120VCD on the input, and provide 120 to 180VDC output with about 20-25A max.
The same unit with a slight configuration change will also do a PHEV prius. The photo is of Dougs Prius which is running with one of the prototypes.
