Default Pre-heating Fuel

A lot of us on here have hot air mods and rad blocks etc to improve combustion effciency and I'm sure we have thought about heating the fuel slightly to help improve combustion.

I was just looking at the alloy pressurised fuel line which runs across the top front of the engine. Could we not wrap a heat exchanger around it (Copper tubing) then insulate it and pass some hot water through it from the IC heating system? Or use a thermostatically controlled electric heater, a lot of diesel vehicles in UK use heaters to prevent fuel waxing.

We would have to keep the temp down to <50C I imagine to prevent premature vaporisation and air locks.

Any comments?

Default Re: Pre-heating Fuel

What I thought about trying was to take a drag racing "cool can" and putting hot water in it to see if it helped. At least in the winter time.
something like this:

If it worked then it would be prudent to use some type of heater for it.
There would probably be a limit as to how hot you could make the gas...you don't want vapor lock. Maybe somewhere around 100 deg. F or 38 deg. C.
