Default clouded headlights

I finally got tired of my "clouded" headlights. I bought a kit from PepBoys and polished them myself. The kit was very easy. It came with 6 saturated pads and the drill attachment. Took about 5+ minutes per light and they are now clear. I hope they stay that way for a while. Cost about $8.00

Maybe you could post what is the "brand" name of the "kit" you bought, for others that want to do the same task.

My 207K car had yellowed lights. I wet sanded with 600 then 1500 then 2000 then 2500.
I then hand rubbed out with Meguires (sp?) Plastix (sp?) and they look almost new.
One bottle will do about 6 headlights, I would guess.

after refinishing, I'd apply some type of film....http://wwww.invisiblemask.com use code 10OFF for 10% off

I believe you polish off the UV protective coating.

I'm not sure if you can put a film coating on the headlights without distorting / dispersing the light. Wouldn't the UV be gone anyway if the lens is clouded? You'd just have to keep polishing it every so often when it clouds up to keep them clear.

My passenger side is just starting to cloud in a spot at the top, but was waiting to do the polish trick.
Keep us posted on any thoughts or processes that work.

I've applied headlight film to 2 cars....once its completely dried (I apply with the wet method) you cannot tell the film is on!!
Headlight beam is still perfect.

XPEL.COM sell a much thicker (30mil) film for twice the price. They supposedly guarantee a 1" stone 120mph won't break the headlight.

hummmmmmmmm.....I wonder if it'd work on a windshield!!!!! kidding - I'm sure its not optically perfect.

Where you get this "headlight film"? I didn't see it on that invisible mask site.

Thanks,
robert
