I just installed this head unit and the 6.5 speakers in my "new to me" 2000 Insight.
It was a breeze to install. It fit perfect, no mods needed.
This seems like a fantastic deal so I wanted to share...
Has anyone installed 6 x 9 speakers in an Insight?
If so, where?

To make the install even easier, I purchased some wiring adapters on eBay, so no splicing needed.
Wiring adapters:
for the head unit:
Scosche SMHA08SON16B 1998 - Up Honda to Sony Direct 16 pin Connector
from Volunteer Automotive and Car Audio - eBay
for the speakers:
Honda Insight Speaker Wiring Harness
Scosche SHHA02B 1990 - Up Honda / Acura Universal Speaker Harness
from Volunteer Automotive and Car Audio - eBay

UPDATE: (I gave up on the idea of installing 6 x 9s) seems like it is too tight behind the seats and installing 6 x 9s in the hatchback area would take quite a bit of modification.
I installed the Sony 6.5 speakers behind the seats in the factory holes (had to drill 2 small screw holes each to install) very easy.
I replaced the front speakers with Kenwood KFC-1661S 6-1/2"/6-3/4" 3-way Speakers (113KFC1661) from Crutchfield.com for $50. These are an exact fit. No mods needed to install.
Adding rear speakers adds dimensional space to the soundstage and reinforces the bass quite a bit. So it is well worth the small price and it is easy to do as the rear speaker factory wiring is already there in place.
