Electric motor turbo basically. They say it gives 3psi of boost and 20% power improvement.

Just want to see what every ones opinion on it is. I can see other applications for it then the insight. I have a 97 Miata that I could mod for some thing like this...

Have been hearing on some of the Miata specific sites that the turbo actually improves MPG a bit, when you keep your foot off the gas...

I have read that the electric turbos were a joke, because they don't generate any more power / pressure than the electricity to run them. Also, this doesn't inject anymore fuel like the other Insight turbo projects that actually wrk. Kind of looks like a glorified intake fan, looks interesting nonetheless.


edit: Maybe if it ran off the 144v battery

This type of electric turbo was brought up on my SSR forum. It turned out to be nothing more than junk. Be careful how you spend your money......there's always someone out there promising the moon at your expense.

wasn't planning on buying one, can't see how it would help much at all.

Just wanted to know if any one had seen any thing on them or not.

They want $380 for that? With that much money, I could buy enough gas to drive close to 8,000 miles in my Insight
