Default Smoke & mpg, codes?

This is really off the wall, but those of you who live in the west have probably been experiencing the smoke from all the fires. I wonder if you have noticed any effect on your Insights?

I just did a round trip to San Jose this last week, plus some driving around here. Currently I've got about 700 miles on this tank since last Monday, with 80.8 mpg average. Usually the best I'd do for this route in hot weather is about 75 mpg. Also, when the smoke was thickest, I several times got OBDI codes related to oxygen sensors (1162 & 0137, IIRC). Anyone think there's a cause/effect here, and if so, what?
