Default Engine change advice

Hi,
I am ready to do an engine change for my 2000 MT. I have a 2003 CVT that the tranny is bad but the motor is good so I decided to swap the motor out of the 03 into the 2000. Any advice will be appreciated.

You will take a mpg hit, even if it it hooks up electrically. Read the recent lean burn cvt engine thread.

Thanks for your reply,
So am I understanding you correctly, the 03 cvt tranny and engine is different then the 2000 M.T. tranny and engine other than the obvious transmission difference?
Are you saying then the way to change my motor is to swap Mt/Engine for MT/Engine?

Yes!
IICR the CVT has lower compression also.
