Default installing extra driving lights

Trying to install extra driving lights for winter driving safety. Is there a problem adding extra lights to the electric system? I would follow directions for hook up and go off 12 volt battery with fuse and relay. Has anyone found the best setup or light combo? What make is best? Thank you, George

I think you need some of these big 8.75" Hella lights:

Seriously, I would think that a regular relay-plus-wire-to-battery setup should work fine. Been thinking about it myself...

In order to achieve better daytime visibility in my Insight I installed a daytime running light module in my car. It causes the turn signal bulbs to illuminate during the day, while allowing them to flash normally for turning. At night when the headlights are on, they turn off and the lights return to their normal operation. It is just like the daytime running lights used on the new Corvettes and GM trucks. I hooked mine up to the Insight wiring harness under the dash.

Now, I'm more safely illuminated for increased visibility during the day and I don't need to install aux lights or turn my headlights on.

The module is available from: www.webelectricproducts.com

You might mention it's going into an Insight, as the Insight has a very high rate flasher with which that the module must interface. The first module I got was for a slow flasher application and I had to return it for the fast flasher model.
