Default Scan Gauge/Radiator mod

Scan Gauge - radiator mod general questions - 1) Is the Scan Gauge 2 worth the money to buy? What are it's best uses? and 2) I installed the radiator mod (read blocked the lower part of the radiator) 5'' x 17" and have seen no change at all in my engine temp or milage. Would a slightly larger one be a problem? I live in Washington State and our lows this time of year are around 35 - highs 50. Winter, lows below freezing and highs 30 to 40. Any input is welcomed.

Thanks,
Nick

1) Depends. Its just another scan tool. It can be usefull to pull codes for yourself and along with other tools DIY some of the easier repairs that will come along. Its also important to use a scan tool along side the cardboard radiator block (see the link below for the precautions).

2) Then its working. Didn't see the normal winter MPG losses did you Read the original thread here. For the potential best MPG performance in cool weather you'll also need the hot intake air mod.

HTH!

Thanks for the input - guess I better check the forum for the hot intake air mod, don't know what it is.

I use a much larger radiator block than the 5x17 but I keep a close eye on engine and intake air temps with my Scan Gauge. Here's a link to the warm-air mod I performed http://www.insightcentral.net/commun...ication#p61979
