Default kmh & mph speedometer

This can be a problem for people importing cars as mph/kmh switch is missing or deactivated in some dashboards.

This chap has done a lot of work on the S2000 dash which has a very familiar look

His own site is here

S2000 Cluster KMH to MPH Conversion

And a lengthy discussion on his investigation is here.

Could be adapted for Insight cluster perhaps?

I think it is as simple as pushing and holding the mph / kmph button and holding, repeat to change it back.

Partly. Pushing that button will give you km/h but NOT km/L. Rather it will give you L/100km.

My insight arrives in the morning!! Wooohooo

But i need to get a speedo converter on it for the IVA - how has it been done on the current cars in the country - do you read in mph?

Is it not as simple as just buying a US cluster??
Or am i able to use a speedo chip as you would on an Integra - wired into the VSS

Thanks

Hi

Its from Japan
Im in the UK - Stoke on Trent

Just got it - drives ok
lmpg at 18.6km/L - but who knows what the owner used it for in Japan

srs light is on - honda reset i guess?
doesnt seem to auto-stop? is there a button to make this feature work
battery soon got up to 1 bar below full - assist works fine

The speedo doesnt have the kmh/mph button - but could i just use the US speedo as they seem to have this feature

Thanks a lot
