Hi,
After my trip to Fla. the light came on so I needed to change the oil anyhow but I am still getting the light at start up. Any ideas? I appreciate your input.

The light does not go out after you performed the maintainence unless you reset it yourself. There is a procedure mentioned here recently in the forum but it is also in your owners manual. It is something like push the trip button down and keep it down while you turn the ignition to on (but don't start the car). Then I think you wait until the light turns off (5-10 seconds) then release the button. If that don't work, it is in the owners manual or you can do a search here.

You have to turn it off after doing the required maintenance:
I used to use the trip button to reset mine ... until my trip button started to flake out on me... now it constantly has the light on... at least until I get around to fixing the trip switch.

Let me know how hard it is. You KNOW mine is bad. I didn't even know there were three trip counters.

sorry to say it might be a while... definitely not warm enough yet... for us apartment dwellers ... and as far as I know almost the whole dash has to come off to get access to it... so it will have to be something I have time to get the whole things done all at once... maybe it will be a extended weekend kind of project... but I already have plenty of other projects that I care more about... so who knows when I'll get around to it... I'll be glad to post about it when I do... but don't hold your breath.
I pushed in the trip button , held it while turning the ignition to on, not starting then turning to off. Released button.
Turned the ignition and started with no more maintenance required light. Hurray.
