Default Painting rear spoiler the same color as car?

Has anyone painted rear spoiler/skirt the color of the rest of their Insight? I was looking on the forum and couldn't find anyone that has mentioned it? I played around on photoshop and I think the insight would look keen with the same color on the back plastic as well as the side sticker/decals. Just curious.

Why "oops" ? The picture was fine.

I have been thinking about removing all the stickers on theback just because it seens to infuriate big Bubba Trucks to be behind a lowly "Hybrid". I find that even when I am going the speedlimit I have many more angry people doing stupid things to get around me than I do in the Jaguar in the same situation. Apparently the Hybrid tag just sets them off....probably jealousy.

Oh thats neat. Now that it is cool outside, I am going to paint the rear bumper skirt. Should I sand it a little and then use regular Krylon spray paint or a special plastic paint. I really think the red paint would look nice and hopefully match the rest of the car. The skirt thing is a faded dull black.

Krylon makes a special paint for plastic. Regular paint will eventually "flake off" from any plastic panels.

Same thing happens in the SF Bay Area, CA. Idiots cannot stand being behind our Insights even if we are driving in the #2 or 3 lane of a 4 lane freeway, and going 75 mph in a 65.
I believe they are jealous.

You know what? I was thinking about doing this, since the black vinyl on mine is wrinkling and peeling off on both the spats just where the front of each meets the body. Not badly, it's an area roughly as wide as a quarter and maybe 1/16th inch deep, but it still bugs me.

My fear was that the one-color rear end would look "heavier," as the black slash goes a long ways towards streamlining the look of the rear end. It's a visual thing, but it's definitely noticeable. The rear end of the Insight... well, let's be kind here... it ain't no Auburn boat-tail when it comes to elegant rear ends... it's my least favorite angle of the car.

I think I'll have the car repainted this spring, but instead of using a vinyl applique, I'll have the same area painted black. No more vinyl peeling...
