Red face Right or wrong Oil Filter??

I just changed the oil and filter on my 2000 MT. The new oil filter, though guaranteed by the parts house to be the right one (V6607 Valucraft) is about an 1inch or more shorter than the one I took off. Do I have a problem???

I don't know about the actual filter you have (whether it is right or not). However, you should note that the original oil filter for the first gen Insight is shorter than the "new" filter for the first gen Insight. Some time ago, Honda made a change, and the official filter is now the same kind used in the second generation Honda Civic Hybrid. These filters are the exact same specs except they are a little longer. So, I'm guessing that you originally had the "newer" filter on your car. And the filter you just purchased is actually the older spec filter. But again, I know nothing about the actual filter you have purchased.

Cheers,
Bryan
