Question Security and immobilizer theft deterrent system is gone!!!!

Hi im in japan and i just purchased a 2000 honda insight and something crazy came to my attention....i have no blinking parking lights when i lock my car or when i unlock my car. Is it me or this model didnt come with that feature. Ive check this forum and finally told myself to start the thread.

Secondly i was given two keys and one remote. One key is black and the other is a metal key. I remember going through this forum and finding out that the car comes with a standard feature to only allow the key with a security chip inside to start the car. But with my car i can start it with both key???? Also the remote looks nothing like the others ive seen. Plus it doesnt have a panic button. The owners manual on this forum says press once to unlock the driver door. And twice for the pass. But my remote once for both.

Ill try to post pictures so you can see for yourself. If im going crazy please tell me. I just dont want to think the wrong things about my dear new crx (insight).

First, Japanese and U.S. Insights weren't offered with identical features. I am familiar only with U.S. Insights.

On U.S. Insights, Honda's security system was an extra-cost option, not standard. I added this system to my 2000 Insight after I purchased it.

The immobilizer system was standard on U.S. Insights.

That does seem odd unless the metal key contains an immobilizer chip, the metal key is on a key ring with one of the black keys so that the immobilizer chip in the black key is being sensed, or the immobilizer system wasn't standard on Japanese Insights (seems unlikely).

U.S. Insights included two black keys, 2 remotes, and one gray key called a "valet key" that functions identically to the black keys but doesn't allow the hatchback to be unlocked (if I recall correctly).

Honda's security system includes additional remotes that replace the standard immobilizer system remotes. Only the security system remotes include a panic button.

U.S. Insights behave as the owners manual describes.

I sold a MIMA to a guy in Japan. He had a 1999 CVT insight. When the system was installed he had a code, and with some back and forth comparing the japanese and US service and electrical manuals, we discovered that the ECM used different wires for some of the I/O, and I had to add a wire to his plug in adapter that was not used on our Insights.
It would seem that they were working out the system on those early CVT's, and there may be many subtle differences. Hiro belongs to a group of Insight owners, so you may want to hook up with them and get the first hand scoop about the setup of the early japanese Insights.
There are some links on his owners page report:

Yes I thought so also about the too keys being on the same ring and also being in the same area. So I separated THEM TOO TEST AND STILL THE CAR STARTED WITH EASE.
THE METAL KEY GAVE ME CLOSURE BECAUSE I DONT THINK HONDA PUT A CHIP IN METAL SO THAT TOLD ME THIS CAR DIDNT COME WITH IMMOBILE SYSTEM OR THE DEALERSHIP GOT IT FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER THAT WAY.
U.S. Insights included two black keys, 2 remotes, and one gray key called a "valet key" that functions identically to the black keys but doesn't allow the hatchback to be unlocked (if I recall correctly).
