Default Any Honda-specific XGauges for ScanGauge?

This document lists some gauges that some cars support, and others don't. Things like A/F ratio and catalyst temperature could be interesting. Do any of these XGauges work on the Insight? Are there any XGauges related to the IMA?

Have you searched the forum for Scangauge? or Xgauge?

Xgauge certainly brings up some useful results.

There are no aftermarket OBDII scanners that will read all the available data form a Honda IMA system, only a Honda HDS will, BIG bucks! ($5,000+) Most others will pull the standard OBDII related codes (including the IMA OBDII subset). However, their supplied definition may be more generic and require referencing the FSM for a better understanding.

With that said _basic_ fault codes can be blinked out by jumpering the SCS pin in the OBDII connector to ground (also in the connecor). See the FSM and or ETM for wire color and pin location details. WARNING, jump the wrong pin(s) to ground and you may let $,$$$ of the "magic" smoke out of the wires. AND the blink codes are a _subset_ of their OBDII cousins. They can be maddingly difficult to use for diagnostic purposes. Read: There are fewer codes to cover the same number of faults so they are less specific in some instances.

HTH!

actually I see some Honda Diagnostic Systems (HDS) on ebay for cheaper than $5000, but range from $200-$900.. Not sure if these are the real things or china knockoffs or something.

A group of us in UK bought a chinese HDS clone

We are still trying to get it to work correctly but are hopeful we will be able to do the full diagnostics and key programming etc later. You can get them for a lot less then $5000 we paid about $600 I think.

The link shown is an HIM, only part of the system. Hopefully, at least partially functional with Honda _propritary_ interface functions. Only OBDII is "open source".

I'd use _extreme_ caution before I'd do any writing to the system. By definition such a system would be using cracked or blackmarket software, with unpredictable results.

Default insight x-guages

I've set mine up quite awhile ago, but I know I have a "horsepower" guage that appears to work, and I found a guage on this site that lets me know when I am in "lean-burn"
