I kinda like D. I'm not sure of the specific effect it would have on things like heat and aerodynamics but if you could make it with an LED light set that trailed back and forth I'd love one. Knight Rider reference for anyone that missed it.

In all seriousness though, I do like the look of D quite a bit.

If it were an electric car I'd go with C since there really needs to be no airflow going into the engine compartment. In the winter I'd choose B because it should get enough air unless it's in bad stop-n-go conditions but I rarely deal with traffic so I'm sure this wouldn't be neccessary. In the summer, I'm going with A.

D sort of reminds me of the New Acura TL front end. I like C, because it seems to be most aerodynamic, but could have engine cooling problems, and also A/C condenser probs.

I like D also.

Are there parts available from some company that are similar to the bumper modifications that you have illustrated?

i would say d also, but for both openings... in the winter that could keep it warm and in the summer you could remove either or just one to keep cool

should be easy.... cover the bumper with that plastic you use to wrap food in and then make a brick of some kind... then sand and paint

As I said on the same poll on ECOMODDER.COM I picked "A" b/c the high temp. will increase the temp. of the engine and this will likely decrease the use of the engine.

I like D also. Keep us informed. I was thinking of along similar lines myself. I have my radiator completely blocked off winter and summer. Kept close tabs on temps with my scangaugeII and it never went higher than 206F.

I can't think of how it would be possible for your engine to -not- overheat with the radiator completely blocked off. You need a radiator otherwise you will drive 5 minutes in the summer and then when the thermostat opens the coolant will flow through the radiator which might give you another few minutes. If you brought the car on the highway with a radiator with zero airflow over it, a car wouldn't last 10 minutes in the summer.

Do you ever drive your car more than 10 minutes at a time?
