This site seems to show the simplest method of fiberglass over urethane foam I've seen using plywood, urethane foam, polyester fiberglass, and fiberglass resin. Using Fiberglass/Foam Sandwich Composite It seems easier than the method they are using in this video, perhaps faster, but then again experience is a great teacher and pictures usually make things appear easier than they really are.

I think the rounder, and slightly shorter(parkability concerns) tail would be cool. I really like the photoshop image.

The X-Prize red insight that I am building the Data acquisition interface for will have an extended tail, and slightly lifted hatch.
The team is Envera LLC
Don't know if they have any photos yet.

I want a data acquisition interface!

A slightly lifted hatch - I wonder why? My tuft testing indicates the stock hatch does not suffer flow seperation, at least not on the glass surfaces, even in a mild crosswind. It seems to me lifting the hatch would increase overall length, making the vehicle slightly more cumbersome and crosswind-sensitive, and increase skin drag minutely.

I learned a thing or two about carpentry this weekend. I should have used 2x3's so I wouldn't have to build a truss out of 1x2's.

The left half of my tail extension's frame has foam screwed in place and it's ready to sand. I'll shape the left side before I screw foam to the right side.

They took out the IMA, put in some rear seats so they can enter as a 4 seater.
Long story!
