iPhone apps for Insight
Now the newer iPhones have GPS positioning, compasses and inbuilt accelerometers, it is about time someone with a brain concocted some iPhone apps exclusively for the Insight, and I suppose for any other Hypermilers out there.! They probably won't make much money, but with I2 cars it may mount up, who knows.
I was thinking along the lines of using the GPS to tell you the local speed limit and if you are speeding, then also linking wind speed and wind direction from local weather maps to your position, direction and speed to give the relative wind speed and direction. This can then all be displayed in mirror image and reflected onto the windshield to give a Head up style display. HUD display and speed limit stuff is already out there, but real time wind direction is special to us lot!!
An app that takes your mpg and distance figures from say "your daily highway commute", and then gives a running average from just those figures would be good, as you cannot do this with the Insights Speedo trips....they keep adding in the dreary stuff like trips to the shops.
Anyone got any other ideas?
