Default Added some interior lighting

After driving my Insight at night the past few weeks of ownership, I've noticed its like driving black hole compared to my wife's Pilot. It has a couple of small LEDs that illuminate the cupholder area so after a trip to the "Shack" as its called now I did this:

to be continued.

I wired them up to the 12v accessory socket so they are on whenever the key is on.
I'll get a pic when its dark of the night time green glow. at least I can see the cupholders now.

I've got a few more lighting ideas of "questionable taste", but I thought I'd start on the mild side first.

Nice work!

Just a thought, but you have the stereo right above your lights there. The stereo connector contains a wire (orange I think) that only becomes live when your headlight are on...

Wink

I think I did it the hard way. I installed a 7" monitor in the area of the cigar lighter. It required moving the cup holder back about an inch. The control buttons are under the radio facing down and they are illuminated. The light from the buttons light the cup holder nicely. Only cost about $200 to do it...#

OK.
Flame on for my "lava lamp" mod!

This one is switched and is just six 24" LED strips from Auto zone:

One strip that sticks to each of the (4) seat rails:

and one each under each side of the dash:
