Cool MCM and BCM serial numbers/model numbers???

Several people have mentioned getting these parts replaced under warranty. I know MINE are NOT under warranty, but am wondering if they have been replaced. They are (both sets) working fine...I think. But I havent the foggiest idea what the symptom was that replacing them was supposed to cure?

When I have found numbers in reference to replacement, mine dont seem to even match the format so I cant tell if they are new or old.

One of my MCMs has the number 1K000-PHM-040 But also has the number 7650-501284 seemingly later stamped on it. It is also marked MT which I suppose means its from a Manual Transmission car. The matching BCM also has two numbers, 1K000-PHM-020 and the later stamp 7680-301265...no MT designation on the BCM

Are these "old" or "new" and what was the difference in what they did or did not do?

I *think* 040 means that it is the 2004 release. I know that there is an 070 version.

Jim;
Have the dealer "run" your vin for any recalls or warranty work and that should tell you the information you need.

Yes, I did that, but I dont trust the local dealer. If he saw that it might cost him money he would tell me everything was hunky dory and push me out the door.

The lady at the computer console told me 18 months ago that all recals and upgrades had been done. But then there is the matter of my second set of modules that came off the "junk" battery that was given to me.

Those are the ones I gave the numbers for above.

That is what is confusing to me.

The MCM ends in -040. There IS NO -040 in that list!!!
the BCM ends in -020 and again, there IS NO -020 in that list!!!!

Even if I was mistaken and had them backwards, -020 and -040 dont exist in any of those lists!!!!

I've got here:

1K100-PHM-020 / 1K000-PHM-040 MT

1K100-PHM-030 / 1K000-PHM-904 CV

Both of these sets fit 2000-2001 Insights.

Relax Jim. The list is incomplete. I have the same pair here.
