speaker pocket question.

i saw in one the the speaker replacement threads that the persons speaker pocket had a foam ring around it.

is this factory?

If so what does it do cause mine does not have that and im installing my polk audio 651s today.

by the way crutch has them on sale right now for 75.99 if anyone is interested. pm me though if your gonna buy from there i have a question for you as well.

Foam ring around where? The front door speaker pocket is a solid piece that keeps water out of your car. don't know your model but it is not a slim fit speaker you will have to cut your door to mount. (Then you have to build a new pocket to keep water out of your car out of a container or some foam)

Are you talking about a small foam ring right where the speaker mounts to the door? That just makes a seal to separate the front and back airwaves. Your new speakers should come with a foam ring, use it.

all is good. thanks for the help. i just installed polk audio 651s perfect fit took about 4 minutes per side. no modifications a true drop in fit.
