There was only one place in town to get 0-W20 oil and that was Walmart. Today I went to get some and was told that they NO LONGER WILL CARRY IT!!!
They had 0-W30, Mobile 1, today, on sale at $2.30 a quart, because they are also discontinuing THAT. I bought the last of their stock since I may never see 0-W20 OR 0-W30 again. What the hell???
Now I am wondering if I will see a loss in mileage with the 0-W30?
Anyone have any idea if the difference is enough to measure???

5W20 is more appropriate than 0W30, since the second number is the hot viscosity. 5Wx will make for harder starting, but xW20 will behave fine once the engine is warm.
I'm pretty sure I've seen 0W20 in Castrol, and I know they sell the M1 0W20 at Advance Auto Parts. If all else fails, order some from Majestic Honda.
Wish I had seen that before I put the 0W30 in. But I can still take back the other gallon. But non of the auto parts suppliers around here offer ANY 0W anything

Many cars take 0-20 oil. Pretty much any Honda from 03 up. You should be able to find 0-20 Mobil 1 at many places. You could always order it online. I have ordered oil before with as low as $10 shipping for 12 quarts (can't remember the seller though :/).

Yes, Ill bet I could buy it from Honda....if I was rich. But apparently people around here dont drive Hondas as I have been looking for it for 2 years and finding it ONLY at Walmart. Now Walmart says they will no longer sell it.

My own personal experience from a 5w-30 synthetic to a 15w-50 synthetic(which is a pretty big difference even when hot) during the summer with a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder on a different car was about 35mpg and 30mpg at the most. I don't think that the difference between 0w30 and 0w20 will hit the wallet by any means, especially during the summer in a hot climate like in southern Texas. Most 20 weight oils are on the thicker end of the spectrum of the 20 weight area. If you are open to trying Pennzoil synthetic, which is what bryan uses and has oil reports for if you search you can find his results. It can be bought online(I've never seen it in the store in 0w20) from this place. Pennzoil Platimum for Hybrids 0W20 - Case 6/1 Qt Currently $31.99 for a case of 6. Not sure how much the UPS/FedEx shipping is though. It's an option but in the end might be cheaper just to use the 0w30 that is available to you. Even if your MPG did mind it, your engine will not.
I have about 100 miles on it so far and if there is a difference, its slight. I was getting 62.7mpg before the oil change on this tank of gas (all around town in residential areas) and after the oil change I was still getting 62.7 mpg

One of our customers did inadvertently switch to )W-30 and he says he's getting about 1 or 2 mpg less. Considerering the hp gained in qualifying trim vs race trim with 20 wgt vs 40 wgt I'd say its a pretty good estimate.
