Default Question for people who actually installed new speakers.

So I pulled the 6 1/2's out of my old car and those will work in the front doors after i cut out the plastic behind the stock speakers. I know people have commented about water getting in around the speakers after that is done. Anyone ever put speaker baffles in to mitigate the water? found these at crutchfield and i might give them a try, seems like the perfect place to use them.

But now to the rear speakers, i have 6x9's from the old car. i know that some say rear speakers screw up the sound in the car (not really sure how they'd do that) but i really would like the 6x9's in the rear. anyone actually do some mods and get the 6x9's to fit? I'd like to hear about how you were about to accomplish this. they have much more bass then the 6 1/2's i have.
well i guess i'm going to see what it really looks like behind there. here goes nothing.

It looked like to me like there was plenty of room behind there... but I'd hate to see an insight chopped up for a set of 6x9 speakers :*(...

ok good news, i didn't chop up the car. i threw my "old" speakers from my old car in the rear. infinity 6 1/2 components. so they really cover the lows and mids well (didn't do anything with the tweeters yet). i didn't want to really get to deep into the moding today so i just went simple and i'm glad i did. going for a ride now, if they sound decent with the factory head unit i'll just leave the rear speakers as they are. I'll probably get a new head unit and look at drop in front speakers so i don't have to cut anything.
I was glad to see how easy it is to take apart the insight, the "door jams" come right out, and then you can get the plastic side panel off real easy, and i didn't even break anything!
