Default Odometer Mpg Limitations

With my PHEV I have been pushing the main odometer / lifetime mpg to extremes with displayed mpg, and I think i have discovered it's limit, which is not 150mpg, but appears to around 130mpg.

After several thousand miles at 130mpg+ the gauge will not go above 131.1mpg. It rises from 130.1mpg to 130.9mpg and then keeps dropping back to the lower figure, even when I know the driving over the last 50 miles or so should have resulted in a further rise in mpg.

This repeats ad infinitum.

The gauge can display 150mpg as we know, if you reset the lifetime mpg and then drive, and the two trip meters appears to be able to display upto 150mpg calculated correctly, but the main lifetime mpg odometer appears to get into a loop after several thousand miles.

Must be some sort of maths problem, not that it's an issue just interesting.

Hmm, you're probably the first person to have this problem. I guess you're going to have to record tank-to-tank?

What happens in Metric?
